Over 6000 participants showcase Karate Skills in 7th International Karate Championship 2023

Global Seishinkai Shito Ryu Karate Do Federation in association with Karate Do Association of Bengal has organised the 7th edition of the International Karate Championship, The Indian Challenger’s Cup in the City of Joy. This is a historic moment for all the lovers of this sport as for the first time an Olympic Gold medalist will be a part of this extravaganza. This championship is under Hanshi Premjit Sen who is the President of Karate Do Association of Bengal and WKF A grade referee. Premjit Sen over the years has strived rigorously to develop karate in the nation.

From organising training camps by WKF gold medalists to organising extravagant championships to providing financial support to all the players this man has done it all. Thousands dream to represent their country but only few get the opportunity. Hanshi Premjit Sen desires to fulfill the wishes of all these karate athletes. Therefore, he organises this open international championship where all these students get the same international exposure and get the chance to represent their country. In order to create an enthusiasm among the students Hanshi Premjit Sen will be giving a cash award of rupees three lakhs The most exciting event of this mega tournament is the team kumite where we are witnessing the best of athletes across this nation and abroad. Premjit Sen has always worked for women empowerment and this is for the first time in the history of Indian karate he is organising the Women’s Team Kumite . This 7th International Championship had around six thousand participants participating from eight different countries (Malaysia, Bangladesh, SriLanka, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Japan and Italy ) and all across the nation. The Inaugural Ceremony of the event on 29th July at Netaji Indoor Stadium.

On 29th July this championship wasgraced by Mr Swapan Banerjee (President of Bengal Olympic Association) ,Mr Navender Singh ( Joint Commissioner of Police ) , Mr Vineet Kumar ( Executive Director of Sports Authority of India) , Ms Dola Banerjee ( Olympian, Arjun Awardee and EC member of Indian Olympic Association) and Ms Manasi Roy Choudhary ( Co-Chairman of Techno India Groups ) . On 30th July dignitaries Shri Mr Arup Roy ( Honourable Minister of Cooperation ) and Mr Zha Liyou ( Consul General of China) were presented in the event
