Omacme to invest Rs 100 crore to expand production capacity

Omacme, the flagship brand of Acme Moulders & Furniture Private Limited, a leading name in the Indian seating furniture industry, plans to invest over Rs 100 crores for enhancing their production capacity and making their presence felt in the retail market.

Founded in 1985 by Mr Gouri Shankar Daga as Acme Moulders & Furniture Private Limited, today, Omacme, is a pioneer in India’s seating industry and its product ranges are available pan India through a strong dealer network. Omacme manufactures all kind of seating furnitures including home chairs and tables, office chairs, institutional chairs and tables, high-end desk & benches, banquet & wedding room chairs, auditoriums, cafe & restaurant chairs & tables and other kinds of tables like centre tables, coffee tables & dining tables at their sprawling state-of-the-art 1,10,000 sq ft factory in Sodepur, which is equipped with cutting edge machinery and backward integrated processes to ensure superior quality and precision. Omacme has a production capacity of manufacturing 1000+ chairs and tables daily.

The Omacme brand was launched in 2010 by Mr Ajay Daga, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Omacme with the main purpose of selling economical range of chairs. This brand was launched when the organisation was at the peak of manufacturing moulded plywood for chair seat & back. Today, Omacme boasts of two sub brands Omacme Series and Omacme Luxe – Affordable Luxury. Omacme Series consist of basic and economical chairs for all categories while Omacme Luxe targets luxury lovers that craves premium furniture without going heavy on their pockets. Product customisation is also an important aspect of Omacme’s services giving the customers a wider option to choose from.

We have a robust expansion plan in place as we would be investing over Rs 100/- crore by 2030. We would be setting up a new manufacturing unit in Kolkata by 2026 and increase our presence in the retail market by opening 10 new Omacme design studios in metro cities by 2028”, said Mr Ajay Daga, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Omacme.

“We design and manufacture our products in-house, ensuring high quality. At Omacme, we would continue to innovate box category of knockdown wooden chair development and luxury upholstery segments. We are launching our very new Omacme Luxe Wooden Series in which we are launching one of its kind wooden chairs which will be sustainable as well as having aesthetic propositions. Our future plans would include achieving 100% digitization of all factory processes so we have control over all our quality check-up points to create an efficient zero error management system and transform Omacme into a known consumer brand name”, said Mr Nikhil Daga, Director & Chief Technology Officer, Omacme.

   
Omacme was the first company to revolutionized the furniture industry with its innovative hot-press moulded plywood technology. “Around 25% to 30% of our sales comes from West Bengal’s furniture market. We have optimised our metal unit to the extent of producing 1000+ chairs daily and in future, we are planning to introduce more advanced seating solution, said Mr Amit Daga, Director & Chief Operating Officer, Omacme.

“The current situation of the Bengal furniture industry is very promising with the boom in the residential & commercial as well as HoReCa industries. With new companies starting their operations in West Bengal and the initiatives undertaken by the West Bengal government for the investors to set up industries here, the furniture industry is expected to grow exponentially in West Bengal”, added Mr Ajay Daga.
