Woman turns ‘dreams into reality’ by opening boutique

Nothing could be truer for the women entrepreneurs of today who are chartering unknown territories unabashedly and fearlessly. Each of them is scripting her own success story in today’s new age world. One such woman is Gargi Sonkar, owner of Ethnic Boutique.
Ethnic Boutique launched their second showroom in Kolkata on 37, Purna Das Road today. The boutique aims to provide a wide range of exclusive handcrafted sarees for the modern women of today rooted in tradition.
Renowned Bengali film actor and Member of Parliament, Ms Nusrat Jahan graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Nusrat who was seen in an authentic Red Benarasi saree with jaal work and woven bird motifs looked resplendent.
Adding to the versatility of the saree as a garment and the element of invincibility, five women motorcyclists dressed in silk sarees, boots and aviators were invited by Ethnic Boutique for the inauguration. The bikers Nivia Singh, Srijita Roy Chowdhury, Raksha Jaiswal,Saswati Biswas and Soma Bhattcharya have been passionate riders travelling the length and breadth of India as well as Dhaka, Bangladesh. Aged between
21-38,these women challenged the concept of the motorcycle being a man’s machine and have created their own unique identity. While being professionals by day, they create time to be on the road for their love of riding. Ms Gargi Sonkar of Ethnic Boutique celebrated their spirit with a token of appreciation.
The most loved and popular chief guest Nusrat said, “I absolutely love the sarees of Ethnic Boutique and have personally worn them. Being a saree lover it is wonderful that we have a new store to visit in Kolkata with such a huge variety . Gargi Di has impeccable choice and each saree is an exclusive work of art.
