Mrs India USA Universe 2024 Piyali Roy’s innovative dress design commemorates Satyajit Ray’s classics at the Cannes Film Festival

Mrs. India USA Universe 2024 Dr. Piyali Roy, at the 78th Cannes Film Festival,  drew attention with her innovation. What is that eye-catching thing? Piyali Roy remembered the legendary artist, renowned film director Satyajit Ray through a creative dress.This year, there was a special screening of the film ‘Aranyar Dinratri’ directed by Satyajit Ray and starring Sharmila Tagore and Simi Garewal. After the film was shown, the audience stood up and paid tribute to the two actresses of the film, Sharmila Tagore and Simi Garewal. On the other hand,  fashion designer Piyali Roy drew attention on the red carpet. The red gown she was wearing had a pictures of the posters of the films created by Satyajit Ray.

Along with the various aspects of making his films, Satyajit also paid special attention to his publicity materials such as posters and calligraphy. He worked as a designer in an advertising agency. He was a student of Kala Bhavana in Santiniketan. He used to draw pictures for advertisements, even he used to design the brochures of his films himself. The red gown carried images of Ray Film Posters. Dr. Piyali Ray was seen  on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival.

She  said, “Satyajit Ray is one of those who took the uniqueness of Indian culture to the court of the world. As a designer, I am very proud to honor such a legendary artist of the film industry.”
