The International Collage Art Carnival ‘AAMANTRANA’: Display of artistic expression and ingenuity from all Corners of the Globe

The annual Collage International Art Carnival called “AAMANTRANA” commenced on the 14th of April 2024 at the prestigious Lalit Kala Akademi in Mandi House, New Delhi. The event the 19th edition, will be open until April 20th from 11 am to 7 pm and feature a diverse range of captivating artworks, art talks, presentations, and panel discussions from various cultures and perspectives. The exhibition aimed to democratize art appreciation and education, making it accessible to a wider audience, and fostering a deeper appreciation for the richness and diversity of contemporary art. For the first time this year, the exhibition showcases the artistic brilliance of 45 artists from 30 countries around the globe, whose enchanting paintings are being displayed.

Ashwani Kumar Prthviwasi, the Founder and Director of Delhi College of Art, expressed that the art carnival symbolizes artistic creativity and exchange. It brings together talents from all over the world to celebrate the endless possibilities of contemporary art. This carnival is an important platform for new artists where they can immerse themselves in a wide range of artistic expressions. Through various workshops, art talks, and interactive sessions, these emerging artists can enhance their skills and broaden their understanding under the guidance of established artists and experts.

The festival promised to be a profound and enriching experience for all art enthusiasts, including emerging and seasoned veteran artists. It provides a distinguished platform for seasoned artists to showcase their work, share insights, and engage in meaningful dialogues with fellow artists, critics, and art enthusiasts. These interactions foster a culture of collaboration, inspiration, and mutual learning that enriches the artistic landscape and pushes the boundaries of creativity.

The carnival will last for seven days and encompasses a myriad of art forms ranging from multimedia, sound, video, and performance art, as well as community art, collaborations, painting, drawing, photography, installations, and more. Every day offers a unique tapestry of artistic experiences, ensuring that those attending the event embark on a transformative journey of artistic exploration and discovery.

Poornima Bhardwaj, a commerce graduate from Delhi, has turned into a highly skilled visual artist who spoke about her passion and has been passionately creating art over the last seven years. She has always been an art enthusiast since childhood, often finding herself lost in her imaginative world with a pencil and paper in hand. She was thrilled to participate in this carnival as it provides an excellent opportunity for artists to connect with each other and exchange their thoughts about art. She said, “It’s a platform for the global art community not only to showcase their hard work but also to connect with art enthusiasts and fellow artists”.
