India Rescued 9 Bangladeshi Students Trapped in Ukraine, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Thanks Prime Minister Modi Ji

Operation Ganga is being run by India to rescue Indian citizens trapped in Ukraine. So far 18,000 Indians have been brought back under this rescue operation. The special thing is that along with evacuating its citizens, India is also rescuing several people from its neighbouring countries like Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, as well as other countries.

According to information received from the Bangladesh Ministry of Foreign Affairs, recently 9 citizens of Bangladesh have been evacuated from war-torn Ukraine. According to government sources, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for rescuing nine of its citizens from Ukraine as part of ‘Operation Ganga’. Nepalese and Tunisian students have also been rescued under this Operation.

Earlier, India has also rescued Asma Shafiq, a Pakistani student trapped in Ukraine, under Operation Ganga. After which Asma Shafiq has praised the Government of India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Asma is going to meet her family soon. Asma said, “I want to thank the Indian Embassy in Kyiv. The Indian Embassy has supported us even in difficult situations. I would also like to thank the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. Hopefully we will reach home safely because of the Indian embassy.”

As of today, 694 Indian students who were trapped in Sumy, in eastern Ukraine, have also been evacuated. All the Indian students stranded there have been taken to Poltava by 12 buses, from where they will come to India. For the speedy evacuation of these students, Prime Minister Modi had a 50-minute conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky for 35 minutes on Monday. During this, he had sought support from the Presidents of both the countries to evacuate the Indian students trapped there.
