City of joy Kolkata welcomes the Yunnan Women Delegation of Friendship from China visiting India initiated by Chaitali Das, Social Entrepreneur and advocated by H. E. Zha Liyou Consul General of China in Kolkata. The Delegation was welcomed to Kolkata with traditional Bengali custom of garland and dhaak at the Raj Kutir at Swabhumi. The resplendent Welcome Program included the preview of “Jute Story Beyond Bars” Documentary by Rakshak Foundation, a cultural confluence between the sister cities with array of performances such as Dhunuchi Dance, Baul Folk Song, Taiji and Chinese Qipao along with a traditional Bengali cuisine and Awadhi Cusine.
Ms. Hu Yingxia, leading the Yunnan Women Delegation said “It is our pleasure to be here on the invitation of our sisters from Kolkata. This delegation is of friendship and sisterhood. It’s an opportunity for us to learn the best practices from our sisters who are leaders in their own fields in India”
Ms. Das said “This Socio- Economic- Educational- Cultural Exchange Delegation is a historic ocassion where the women from the two countries have come together to create a better and prosperous world through collaborative efforts in their respective countries.”
