On 7th April, 2023, on the occassion of world health day, Sudhamta Foundation India, organised West Bengal State Multiple Disability football tournament. We have been working with disability for years now, but organising such a massive event was indeed one of a kind. The tournament had participants from six districts and sixty disabled players gathered today. Honourable guests like Dr. Shashi Panja, Minister of women and child, government of west bengal, Shyam Thapa, eminent football player of Indian football team, emninent actor Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Subrata Bhattacharya, veteran Indian Footballer and who played years in Mohanbagan Club, were a part of the prestigious event today. All India Coordinator, Arumita Mitra, who has a decade experience in social work told, “We need proper coaching for these players coming from extreme rural villages and their motivation towards life inspires me. Disability didnt stop them from playing football, then nothing should stop the government to provide them with better amenities.
