West Bengal Basketball Association committed to grow the game of basketball in the state

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused the most significant disruption to the sporting world. Nearly after one year , basketball lovers of the city of joy will once again witness basketball tournaments .
In a move to get sport back on track, West Bengal Basketball Association’s newly formed committee is determined to engage, discuss and come up with various plans for the development of the sport in Bengal.The committee will engage with all the important stakeholders involved in getting sport back to life and helping athletes get back on track.
West Bengal Basketball Association in its sincere efforts to develop and popularize the game of basketball in the state, have decided to organize Two New Introductory ‘Tournament like Youth Basketball League and 3 x 3 Basketball Championship. A set of plans for development of the game in grassroots level has been planned by the newly elected body. Junior players will be getting great opportunity in developing, their skills through Sports Science which will culminate in making a better sports profile. Players, Coaches and Officials from the various districts are also ready in taking, active Participation in these ventures.
Suhas Bhattacherjee Hony. Jt Assistant Secretary said “We are committed to growing the game of basketball among boy and girls of the state. It is important to promote the sport at the grassroots level so as to achieve good results from the state.We also aim at developing and introducing sports science which will immensely benefit the players.”
Poonam Chaturvedi, tallest basketball player of the Indian women’s basketball team said “These initiatives taken by the newly elected body will provide the much-needed boost particularly to women players of the state.”
