Vivek Chetna Utsab 2021 At Ward 68 Celebrated Its Fifth Year

Ward 68 in association with Ministry of Youth Service & Sports, Government of West Bengal hosted Vivek Chetna Utsab 2021 celebrations on the 158th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

 

Shri Subrata Mukherjee, Minister-In-Charge, Non-Conventional and Renewable Energy Sources & Panchayat and Rural Development, Government of West Bengal, Shri Dilip Maharaj, Bharat Sevashram Sangha, Mr Sukhendu Sekhar Roy, Member of Parliament, Mr Tanmoy Bose, Eminent Percussionist, Mr. Swapan Basu, Eminent Folk Singer and Smt Sudarshana Mukherjee, Coordinator, Ward 68, KMC were present to inaugurate the daylong celebration.

 

“Following the principles and ideology of Swami Vivekananda, this initiative is solely to support all families that have lost their family members and are facing difficulties in education. We will provide all education supplies to the affected families living at Ward 68., so that any child’s education is not affected due to COVID-19 situation.”, said Smt Sudarshana Mukherjee, Coordinator, Ward 68, KMC.

 

The celebration started with garlanding the statue of Shri Swami Vivekananda at Ballygunge Place, followed by felicitating the COVID-19 warriors of Ward 68, that includes the doctors and COVID-19 survivors. The morning also witnessed a free eye camp where patients with difficulty in vision or even cataract were checked and treated.

 

The functions in the evening  included Raibenshe Dance Performance, Folk Song Performance, Felicitation Of Folk Artists, Marshal Art Show and Yoga Show.
