Prabha Khaitan Foundation celebrated Vasant Panchami like every year at their Balaram Bose Ghat Road office. After worshiping Bagdevi, a special classical music presentation by Padma Shri Shubha Mudgal Ji was held at Jai Hind Bhavan.
Prabha Khaitan Foundation Executive Trustee Anindita Chatterjee, Ehsaas woman of Kolkata Malika Varma, Gouri Basu, Subodh Sarkar and others were present on the occasion. At the beginning of the event, Malika Varma gave a welcome speech on behalf of the organization. Recently we lost eminent classical musician Rashid Khan and writer Usha Kiran Khan. A minute’s silence was observed at the beginning of the ceremony in their memory.
In the beginning artist Shubha Mudgal ji’s first offering was Saraswati Bandana. The artist also performed the special folk songs of his birthplace. Basant came back again and again in his song, performance. Then musician Payal Kar performed Nazrul Geeti, Bhajan.
