Uttam Kumar’s 45th death anniversary; Veteran actress Shakuntala Barua gets ‘Uttam Smarak Samman’
On July 24, marking the 45th anniversary of Uttam Kumar’s passing, fans of all ages gathered at Mahanayak Uttam Mancha in South Kolkata to pay tribute through heartfelt words and music.
A cultural program honoring the legendary actor Mahanayak Uttam Kumar was organized by the Uttam Kumar Memorial Cultural Committee at Uttam Mancha.
Veteran actress Shakuntala Barua was honored during the event, and in a heartfelt moment, she expressed her gratitude for Uttam Kumar’s lasting legacy.
Continuing Uttam Kumar’s philanthropic legacy, the committee provided financial and medical assistance to technicians- Biswajit Banerjee and Anup Kumar Biswas who worked with him.
Notable singers from the entertainment industry such as Srikanta Acharya,Rupankar Bagchi,Lopamudra, Saikat Mitra,Gaurav Sarkar, Aritra Dasgupta, Chandrika Bhattacharya, Paushali Bhattacharya, Sujoy Bhowmik, Monami Bhattacharya, Madhuri Dey, and Saptak Bhattacharya took the stage at the event, creating a memorable tribute to the cultural icon.
