Usher In Winter At Kolkata Poush Utsav 2.0

The announcement press conference of Kolkata Poush Utsav 2.0, to be held at Rabindra Tirtha Lawns from 24th to 29th December 2019  presented by LINK UP in association with WBHIDCO supported by Anandadhaara (WBSRLM), West Bengal Swarojgar Corporation Ltd. , West Bengal Export Promotion Society under the Department of MSME & Textiles & Loksanskriti o Adivasi sanskriti Kendra was held today in the presence of :

The fair ensues on 24th December morning with customary Brahma sangeet rendition and prayer at Upasanaghar New Town followed by a pravatpheri to Rabindra Tirtha.

It will feature a pavilion for 12 women entrepreneurs representing self help groups from six revenue districts, 30 global artisans including the tribal from the remotest corner of Bangla laying out their creative handicrafts, handloom, woolens, custom jewelry, furnishings, décor, fashion accessories, and homemade processed food products. An unique themed food pavilion serving traditional delicacies, sweets and Christmas confectionaries. Every day morning all participants will participate in an intensive interactive incubation program by select faculty on marketing skills, SCM, accounting, stress management, product catalogue, packaging and labeling and leadership skills. More than 120 folk artistes representing Baul, Chou, Santhal, Gambhira, Raibenshe, Bhadu, Tusu, Jhumur, Jaarigaan & Fakiri will perform at the akhra, lawns and stage.

 

As of date Janab Firhad Hakim Honourable Mayor of Kolkata & Shri Subhaprasanna has kindly consented to grace at the inaugural on 24th December 2019 Tuesday “Christmas Eve 5 p.m. followed by Alokananda Roy perform “Dhrubajyoti tumi Jishu”. On 25th December Christmas Day Treat we are privileged to have Anjan Dutt perform “Raghupati” his adaptation on Gurudev Rabindra Nath Tagore’s “Bisarjan”. On 26th December a two hour of exclusive folk will take the audience in search of our roots. On 27th December we are privileged to have thespian Légion d’honneur Shri Soumitra Chattopadhyay take over from us speak out & perform to his likesOn 28th December Dakshinee will present Tagore’s dance drama “Phalguni” directed by Shri Debashish Raychaudhuri. On 29th December Dr. Amita Dutt and her troupe Ananda Chandrika will perform “Janani Janmabhoomi” brings in the curtains for this year edition of “Kolkata Poush Utsav 2.0”.
