Two IAF C-130J Aircrafts Bring 283 Indians to Jeddah from Sudan, Operation Kaveri Continues to Succeed

Amidst the ongoing violence in Sudan, various countries are engaged in efforts to evacuate their citizens. In such a situation, India is also evacuating its citizens from Sudan. On Wednesday, MoS for External Affairs, V Muraleedharan tweeted, “First IAF C-130J aircraft under #OperationKaveri from Port Sudan carrying 148 Indians landed in Jeddah. Glad to see the joy in the Indians.” On the second IAF flight, 135 more Indians were brought to Jeddah. It is noteworthy that earlier yesterday, 278 Indians were brought back under Operation Kaveri, the first batch of rescued Indians, on.

Along with this, India has proposed to evacuate Sri Lankan citizens as well. Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Ali Sabri thanked India for its support in evacuating its citizens from Sudan. He wrote that they appreciate India’s offer of support in this regard. We are confident that we will get our people out safely in the next few days.

Significantly, due to the ongoing civil war in Sudan, citizens of many countries are stranded there. India has launched Operation Kaveri to evacuate its citizens from Sudan. In fact, in Sudan, the generals of both the factions agreed for a 72-hour ceasefire, after which various countries have launched a campaign to evacuate their citizens. Sudan has been burning in the fire of civil war for the last twelve days. So far 400 people have died, while thousands of people are injured.
