Young chess players displayed their exceptional talent with category wins during the West Bengal State Under-7,9,11 & 13 Chess Championships 2021,under the aegis of Bengal Chess organised by Sunshine Chess Academy in association with Global Chess Foundation.The tournament had attracted nearly 200 plus entries from across the State including a few upcoming top chess players.
IM Srijit Paul who had won double gold and a silver at Western Asia Youth and Junior 2019 participated in the championship said such tournaments would be a boost to the chess talents of the region.
Commonwealth under-10 gold medal winner Sneha Halder said: “I am happy that such a good chess championship is being held locally and this participation means much to me.”
Shantanu Lahiri ,Bengal Chess Association President said “Chess makes a person mentally strong and stable. Chess Tournaments help a child fulfill chess goals. When one wins a tournament game it is memorable and downright motivating.”
Young talent of the country has been drawing the attention of the world towards India for the past two decades.
