With the festive season approaching, a three-day Tourism Fair 2026 has commenced at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra in Kolkata, offering travel enthusiasts an opportunity to explore a wide range of holiday destinations and tourism services ahead of Durga Puja.
The fair, which began on Friday and will continue until Sunday, is being organised by Blue Eye India Private Limited, a company known for hosting tourism exhibitions and travel expos across the country.
According to the organisers, the primary objective of the event is to bring together travel lovers, tour operators, and tourism departments from different states under one roof, enabling visitors to access travel information, discover new destinations, and learn about a variety of tourism services. The fair is expected to help visitors plan their festive season holidays more effectively.
The event features participation from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, the West Bengal Tourism Department, the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board, Andhra Pradesh Tourism, Chandigarh Tourism, and several other state tourism departments. In addition, numerous travel agencies, tour operators, hotels, and tourism industry stakeholders are showcasing their offerings.
Subrata Bhowmik, Director of Blue Eye India, said that the Kolkata Tourism Fair is not merely an exhibition but an important platform for promoting the tourism industry and creating new business opportunities. The organisers are optimistic that this year’s edition will receive an enthusiastic response from both the travel trade and the public.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by actor Ambarish Bhattacharya, Uttam Das, General Secretary of the Travel Agents Association of Bengal, Pranav Prakash, Deputy Director General & Regional Director (E) India Tourism Kolkata Office and P. K. Gautam, Deputy Director of the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board.
Speaking at the event, Pranab Prakash said that the West Bengal Tourism Department has undertaken several initiatives to promote tourism across the state, while India Tourism continues to work actively towards enhancing West Bengal’s tourism potential.
