Florence, an initiative focused on sustainability and community wellbeing, successfully conducted an Afforestation Drive at Lions Safari Park, Rabindra Sarobar Lake. The event was graced by the presence of dignitaries from the Lake Authorities, members of the Rotary, and the esteemed environmentalist Mr. S. M. Ghosh, whose valuable insights greatly enhanced the initiative.
The drive aimed at restoring green cover and reinforcing Florence’s dedication to environmental conservation, in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal—Protect the Environment. Volunteers and participants actively engaged in planting saplings, committing to ongoing efforts towards restoring ecological balance for a healthier future. Afforestation not only benefits the planet but also nurtures the human mind—providing tranquility, balance, and emotional wellbeing. A greener earth fosters a healthier and happier society. The act of planting trees bolsters environmental resilience while comforting the human spirit. Nature’s restorative power significantly contributes to mental health.
