Graveyards of the Water Resources Department (Dams) Gifted to Human Society: Water Crisis, Floods, Drought, Global Warming, Climate Change, Pollution, Environmental Problems* – Universal Lord of Scientists Shyam Sundar Rathi
Human society has entrusted the Water Resources Department worldwide with the responsibility of storing water for the benefit of all. The department has constructed over 6,000 dams across the nation to store water. However, these dams have become “water graveyards,” burying the nature-provided water. These dams occupy around 650,000 km² of land, approximately 21% of the nation’s land area. Twelve crore Indians have sacrificed their homes and cultivated land for the construction of these dams, and 30% of the nation’s forests and vegetation have been destroyed in the process. The tax money spent on these dams is incalculable.
The department collects vast amounts of water in these dams, about 30 times more than the nation’s actual water requirements. If valued at one paisa per litre, this collected water would exceed 80 lakh crore rupees, three times the annual budget of the nation. If the department could provide the minimum benefits of this collected water to the beneficiaries, no one in India would remain poor. The department, which urges us to “SAVE WATER,” “WATER IS THE MOST PRECIOUS RESOURCE,” and “WATER IS LIFELINE,” is destroying almost all the water collected by these dams, leaving the population to survive without water. This is a direct betrayal by the Water Resources Department.
The basic concept of dams is to extract water from rivers and spread it over vast fields. Even a ten-year-old child knows that water dropped on land will naturally evaporate after some time because water is a liquid substance. The countless highly qualified experts, scientists, engineers, technicians, and authorities did not accept this simple truth of science, resulting in the construction of 6,000 water graveyards across the nation. To justify their mistakes, the department has committed a grave crime by mismanaging our natural ground water resources. This severe crime against vegetation and the environment is unacceptable. All the rules and regulations prepared for groundwater management are rendered useless by the department’s actions, leading to the rapid depletion of 80% of the nation’s groundwater. Without intervention, the entire nation may turn into a desert within a few years.
“I conducted a self-financed survey of the nation’s annual water requirements. The survey report indicates that the annual water requirement for the nation is 270 km³. We have the potential to store this 270 km³ of water within 2-3 years using MSD Tank Technology and serve it to the beneficiaries. The efficiency report of the dams, prepared by me, is shocking not only to me but also to the entire human society. Only 2-3 litres per 1,000 litres of water collected by the dams are used effectively, while the remaining 997-998 litres per 1,000 litres are wasted. I submit my research data on the efficiency of these monstrous dams with a special request that it be communicated to human society immediately. Human society should benefit from my research and work towards eliminating these.” said Shyam Sundar Rathi.
