Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port Launches 3-month Vigilance Awareness Campaign Highlighting Integrity for National Prosperity

Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port, Kolkata (SMP, Kolkata) marked the beginning of a three-month-long campaign in the lead-up to Vigilance Awareness Week 2024 that is to be observed from October 28 to November 3, 2024. The campaign was inaugurated by Chairperson, SMP, Kolkata, Shri Rathendra Raman in presence of Shri Samrat Rahi, Deputy Chairman, Dr. Preeti Mahto, Chief Vigilance Officer and other Heads of Department on 23rd of August, 2024.

While inaugurating the campaign, Shri Raman emphasised the importance of vigilance and ethical conduct in all spheres of operation by stating, “At SMP, Kolkata, we are committed to fostering a culture of transparency and integrity. This campaign is not just about raising awareness but also about instilling a deep sense of responsibility towards the organisation among all our employees.” “This campaign will serve as a reminder to each of us that vigilance is not a one-time activity but a continuous process that must be ingrained in our daily operations,” he added.

The event featured capacity-building sessions on critical topics. Shri Sandeep Sengupta, Director of the Indian School of Anti-Hacking, conducted an insightful interactive session on Cyber Hygiene, underscoring the importance of safeguarding personal digital information.

Besides, Shri Joydeep Ghosh Dastidar, Senior Personnel Officer of SMP, Kolkata led a session on Ethics in Governance, highlighting the need of ethical dilemma and ethical practices in Governance at the public sectors.

This event set the stage for VAW 2024 reinforcing the SMP, Kolkata’s dedication to maintaining the highest standards of vigilance and integrity.
