Specialists deliberate on the advancement of respiratory medicine and the improvement of patient care during the 29th ACPCON 2026

The Association of Chest Physicians, West Bengal, organized the 29th ACPCON 2026, its annual flagship conference, on 7th and 8th February 2026 at Swabhumi Rangdurbar, Kolkata. This conference was attended about 350 doctors West Bengal & other States will bring together eminent pulmonologists, critical care specialists, researchers, and healthcare professionals from across the country.

Due to increased pollution and smoking lungs problems, specially COPD and respiretory problems  increased remarkebaly. It is noted that  about 8.36% of the 40+ male has suffered from this problems in India.  It is also increased to the non smoker persons.

This prestigious academic event aims to provide a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange, skill enhancement, and discussion on emerging trends in respiratory and critical care medicine.

A key highlight of ACPCON 2026 was the pre-conference workshops on Mechanical Ventilation and Artificial Intelligence in Respiratory Medicine, designed to equip participants with practical skills and insights into cutting-edge technologies shaping modern healthcare.

The scientific program focussed on a wide range of contemporary and clinically relevant topics, including:

  • Preventive Respiratory Medicine
  • Advancements in Life Support Systems
  • Respiratory Intensive Care
  • Respiratory Infections and Tuberculosis (TB)
  • Tuberculosis associated chronic pulmonary disease (TOPD)
  • Minimally Invasive Interventions in Pulmonology
  • Importance of new pnuomonia vaccine

Renowned national faculty members  led interactive sessions, panel discussions, and case-based learning modules, ensuring high academic value for participants.

Speaking about the event, the organizers stated that ACPCON 2026 aims to strengthen professional collaboration, promote evidence-based practice, and encourage innovation in respiratory care, especially in the context of evolving healthcare challenges.

The conference witnessed the participation of a large number of delegates, postgraduate students, and young researchers with grecious presence of Dr. Parthsarathi Bhattacharya, Dr. Sushmita Roychoudhury, Dr. Khushboo Pilania,   Dr. Nishant Chauhan, Dr. Vishveshwaran Balasubramaniam and many other eminent physicians making it one of the most significant academic gatherings in eastern India in the field of pulmonology.

From the organizors, Dr.AG Ghoshal President ACP (WB), DR Joydeep deb Secretary ACP (WB), Dr. Indranil Halder, Organizing Secretary ACPCON 26, Dr. Ansuman Mukhopadhyay, Dr Sudip Ghosh met the press. A book named  ‘Pulmo-talk’ with the speech of all doctors has been released to the conference.
