Techno India Group Uttarbanga Medha Ratna Utsav is celebrated every year in the campus of Techno India Group Public School Siliguri (TIGPS) and Siliguri Institute of Technology (SIT) to felicitate the toppers of all secondary boards of schools across North Bengal. Several underprivileged students from the adjacent tea gardens and slums across Siliguri town and neighbouring areas are awarded scholarships. It is the largest educational event organized by a private group in North Bengal, involving almost a thousand students and their guardians, as well as the principals and teachers of the concerned schools. Moreover, TIGPS Siliguri and SIT have a student base of nearly 2,500, a large portion of which attend the event. Over the last seven years, it has gained immense popularity and has attracted a large crowd from Siliguri and around. The programme has had eminent personalities from all fields attending and participating.
This year, Indian Armed Forces have joined hands with Techno India Group to mark the celebrations of Swarnim Vijay Varsh, the historical victory over Pakistani Army in the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. Arms & Equipments are on display, along with Military Band and Film Show. Awardees, students, faculty members, guardians as well as people from Siliguri and surrounding areas get the opportunity to witness a great show of valour.
Techno India Group is proud to have Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha (Retd.) as the Chief Guest. Lt.Gen. Ajai Kumar Singh, GOC, 33 Corps has inaugurated the event. Special Guests present were Mr. Riajul Islam, Counsellor, Education & Sports, Bangladesh Deputy High Commission at Kolkata, Dr. Dhrubajyoti Chattopadhyay, Vice Chancellor, Sister Nivedita University. Satyam Roychowdhury, Founder Managing Director of Techno India Group has presided over the ceremony.
Eastern Command & 33 Corps of Indian Army have cooperated to make the event a great success.
