Scheduled Caste Ex-Serviceman Agricultural Development Industrial Centre in Dhaniakhali has been engaged in developmental work across various districts of West Bengal for the past four decades.
At a press conference held in Kolkata on Wednesday, the organisation’s Secretary, Soumen Kole, alleged that the Centre had not received adequate support during the tenure of the previous state government, which had adversely affected its development initiatives.
Kole stated that despite facing numerous challenges and financial constraints, the employees of the organisation had continued to advance its developmental activities through their dedicated efforts. He expressed optimism that the present government, working in coordination with the Central Government under the “double engine” model, would extend the necessary assistance for the organisation’s growth in the future.
He further informed that Khudiram Tudu, the state’s Tribal Welfare Minister, had assured support for the organisation. Although the minister was unable to attend the meeting due to unavoidable circumstances, he conveyed his commitment to stand by the workers and promised to participate in the organisation’s next meeting at the earliest opportunity.
The organisation works with a large number of marginalised people belonging to Scheduled Caste, Adivasi, and ex-servicemen communities. Kole also remarked that the current government is addressing several developmental challenges faced by the state.
