SBI Life steps in to upgrade infrastructure at Midnapore Rotary Eye Hospital, ensures enhanced eye care services for the underprivileged

SBI Life Insurance, one of the most trusted life insurers in India, has joined hands with Midnapore Rotary Trust to provide enhanced eye care services for the underprivileged. The support for procurement of critical diagnostic equipment has been done under SBI Life’s Corporate Social Responsibility program. With the addition of two new diagnostic laboratory equipment’s namely ‘Hematology analyzer’ and ‘Biochemistry analyser’, patients can get the critical pathology tests related to eye surgeries done under a single roof.
Hematology analyser will be used to conduct a complete blood count (CBC), which is usually the first test required by physicians to determine a patient’s general health status. A complete blood count includes red blood cell (RBC), white blood cell (WBC), haemoglobin, and platelet counts. Biochemistry analyser will be used to measure metabolites present in blood or urine. The study of these liquids makes it possible to diagnose many diseases/ underlying health conditions of patients.
Mr. Mahesh Kumar Sharma, MD & CEO, SBI Life Insurance handed over the cheque to Mr. Madan Mohan Maity, Chairman & Secretary, Midnapore Rotary Trust in presence of Mr. G Durgadas, President- Zone 3, SBI Life, Mr. Abhijit Gulanikar, President-Business Strategy, SBI Life, Mr. Ashwani Kumar Shukla, Regional Director-Kolkata, SBI Life and other respected dignitaries
The initiative will provide Midnapore Rotary Trust a timely support in expanding the hospital’s range of pathological services, all under one roof at nominal/ free of cost. This would enable the hospital to diagnose their patients without referring them to external pathological laboratories saving a substantial amount of time and hard earned money of the patients in the treatment.
