“Say No To Fire Crackers”

Firecrackers have always been a cause of concern in Kolkata, this year, the novel coronavirus disease pandemic has increased the threat perception.

As we all know, this year, the Calcutta High Court instructed that no use or display or bursting of firecrackers at all during the Kali Puja and Diwali celebrations, the police should maintain a strict vigil to ensure that there is no sale or purchase of firecrackers.

In order to create an awareness amongst the people about the order of Hon’ble High Court, an appeal by Bhowanipore Police Station along with the students of Asutosh college for not using any type of firecracker , this Kali Puja and Diwali as it aggravates pollution and affects as well as damages our respiratory system. Keeping this in mind, we have organized an awareness drive ‘Say No To Fire Crackers’ from Hazra to Purno Das Road.

“This Diwali burst your ego and not crackers. Let’s build a healthy environment and make our life healthy”, Said Mr Sumit Dasgupta, OC Bhowanipore Police Station.
