Rupankar Bagchi Unveils Two New Bengali Tracks Ahead of Durga Puja

The Dreamers Music PR Agency has brought ‘Double Rupankar’ to audiences this Puja with two new modern Bengali songs, presented by Khukumoni and supported by Theism Events. The launch event was held at Legend and Legacy Café, marking the release of the tracks ‘Megh Ashe Pashe’ and ‘Ekla Poth’.

The songs were officially released on September 25, ahead of Durga Puja. Both tracks feature lyrics and compositions by Sudipta Chanda, founder of The Dreamers, and are performed by National Award-winning singer Rupankar Bagchi.

A Nostalgic Return to the Historic HMV Studio

Adding a special layer of nostalgia to the project, both songs were recorded at the historic HMV studio in Dum Dum, now known as Saregama.

The studio holds a special place in Bengal’s musical history, particularly for its association with the traditional Puja releases that once became an eagerly anticipated part of the festive season.

Reflecting on his connection with the studio, Rupankar Bagchi said that he first visited the premises in 1992, when he went to watch the recording of songs by Suman Chattopadhyay. He later returned to the studio several times to record his own albums.

Speaking about the latest project, Rupankar said he recently returned to the historic studio to record the two new songs and praised his creative association with Sudipta Chanda.

Bengali Music Meets the Spirit of Travel

For several years, The Dreamers has followed the tradition of releasing new Bengali songs ahead of Puja. The timing also coincides with International Tourism Day on September 27, reflecting the agency’s longstanding association with travel-themed Bengali music.

The Dreamers also organizes the Mountain Music Festival in the hills, and its connection with mountain landscapes is once again evident in these new releases.

Sudipta Chanda spoke about the agency’s creative journey, saying that new Bengali music has been a consistent focus of his work. He also highlighted Bengali travel songs as an important part of The Dreamers’ musical identity.

According to Chanda, the music videos for these songs feature breathtaking mountain landscapes, adding a visual dimension to the melodies and themes.

Two Songs, Two Distinct Musical Arrangements

‘Megh Ashe Pashe’ and ‘Ekla Poth’ bring together Rupankar Bagchi’s distinctive voice with Sudipta Chanda’s compositions and lyrics.

While Ranadeep Mukherjee has given ‘Megh Ashe Pashe’ its musical arrangement, Madhurjo Mukherjee has shaped the arrangement of ‘Ekla Poth’, creating two distinct musical experiences for listeners.

Where to Listen

Both songs are now available across major online music streaming platforms.

The music video for ‘Ekla Poth’ is also available on the official The Dreamers Music YouTube channel, allowing audiences to experience the song alongside the scenic mountain visuals.
