PIYALI BASAK FELICITATED BY MSP FOUNDATION
Kolkata based MSP Foundation today felicitated Ms. Piyali Basak for her historic achievement of scaling Mount Everest without the support of supplemental oxygen. Ms. Piyali Bask is the 1st Indian woman to attain such remarkable milestone.
Attempting Everest summit without oxygen is a brave feat in itself and on 26th May 2022, the Chandannagore girl, Piyali Basak created history which made all Indians proud. Ms Piyali Basak, a primary school teacher, a mountaineer has to face much hardship in her quest to conquer Mount Everest without oxygen support. After mortgaging her house and all her savings, she could only shell out Rs 18 lakh and to climb the Everest, one needs at least Rs 35 lakh. Piyali took to social media and raised another Rs. 5 lakh.
When the country is celebrating 75 years of Independence, MSP Foundation thought what a better way to celebrate the independence than honoring country’s golden girl for her success and support her to chase her dream. The foundation felicitated Ms. Piyali Basak and extended a small token of financial assistance of Rs. 5 lakh for her achievement.
