Innovel Energy Pvt. Ltd., one of Eastern India’s leading renewable energy companies, was honoured with the Social Changemakers Award at the 7th Edition of Energy Meet 2026 & Excellence Awards, organised by The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), under the theme “Viksit Bengal for Viksit Bharat.” The event brought together policymakers, industry leaders and clean energy stakeholders to discuss the roadmap for West Bengal’s industrial and energy transformation. Innovel Energy was recognised for its leading contribution towards the solarization of domestic households under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, as well as for driving the adoption of commercial and industrial solar solutions that are accelerating India’s transition towards clean and sustainable energy.
Discussions during the event focused on West Bengal’s potential to emerge as a major industrial and business destination through progressive policies, sustainable infrastructure and increased investment in renewable energy. The programme was attended by Shri Dipak Barman, Hon’ble Minister-in-Charge, Department of School Education, Government of West Bengal, and Shri Ashok Dinda, Hon’ble Minister of State for Agriculture Marketing and MSME & Textiles, Government of West Bengal, among other dignitaries.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Dipak Barman announced the State Government’s vision to gradually equip government schools across West Bengal with solar power systems and other renewable energy solutions, reinforcing the state’s commitment to sustainability while reducing long-term energy costs. Speaking at the event, Shri Ashok Dinda emphasised the importance of creating a business-friendly ecosystem in West Bengal. He said the state aims to attract greater investment and entrepreneurship, with the government committed to supporting businesses and encouraging industrial growth.
