Jatiya Sahitya Prakashan (JSP) Trust organized a press conference at the Press Club to unveil plans for the Post 125th Birth Anniversary Celebration of the Legendary Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. This event marks the fourth episode of the ongoing Year-Long Post Silver Jubilee celebration of JSP Trust, which spans from November 2024 to December 2025.
The grand celebration is scheduled for August 3, 2025, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Ramakrishna Mission Swami Vivekananda’s Ancestral House and Cultural Centre, Kolkata. The press meet was addressed by eminent personalities including Sri Goutam De, Sri Debasish Bosu, Sri Nagathihalli Ramesh, Sri Pitambar Barik, and Sri Shaktimoy Das.
For the first time, a Mega International Literary and Cultural Festival (2024–2025) will be held in memory of 19th-century pioneers of Indian literature and the freedom movement. JSP Trust also announced the institution of the Kazi Nazrul Memorial International Award 2025.
The inaugural recipient of this prestigious award is Sri Nagathihalli Ramesh, an acclaimed poet, lyricist, filmmaker, journalist, and social activist from Karnataka. His lifetime contribution to Indian literature and culture earned him this recognition. The award includes a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, a memento, and a certificate.
Many renowned personalities from India and abroad are expected to participate. The detailed program schedule will be shared fifteen days before the event.
