Moving from autism awareness to acceptance

Every April is World Autism Month, which kicks off with the United Nations-sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day on April 2. For family and friends of people with autism, each day brings a new awareness of autism.

Recent times autism has received quite a bit of media attention, and the general public is now much more aware that autism exists. However, there continues to be a gap between educating communities on ASD and accepting and including individuals with autism in our communities.
