India is a prime animation outsourcing partner for Hollywood. A large number of Oscar-winning and Oscar-nominated animated elements in films were actually created in India. According to various industry estimates, India’s animation and VFX industry was valued at around 107 billion Indian Rupees in 2022, despite the lapse in market value in the previous year owed to the pandemic’s adverse effects. The animation, VFX, and post-production industries are estimated to generate 180 billion Indian Rupees by 2024.

The Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, Comics and Extended Reality (together termed the AVGCXR Sector) has shown year on year growth giving the youth a profitable career option to pursue. The Government through its AVGC policy and task force is working on bringing graduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses. Their ‘Create in India’ campaign puts emphasis and special focus on creating Indian content for both national and international market. There is also suggestion to develop such courses at the school level. Traditional courses are reaching saturation with regards to employability post course completion. Therefore students are now looking at skill based education options that can get them faster employment opportunities.

Colleges across the state are looking to add these new age courses to their offering mix. Given the technical nature of such courses, Moople is working with institutions as their industry partner and uses its expertise to admit, train and place the students in this sector. Being the education wing of Hi-Tech Animation which is one of the leading animation production houses in India, Moople has the advantage of designing a curriculum that is industry relevant and helps the students become employable. By using the existing infrastructure, the colleges are able to offer these courses to the students in affordable rates and helps generate additional revenue for the college.
