Merlin Group Announces Second Edition of Merlin Green frames 2024 – A Live Nature Photography Contest Awareness Drive to Promote Environmental Conservation

Merlin Group, a leading real estate conglomerate in India, proudly presents the second edition of its live nature photography contest, Merlin Green frames, designed to promote environmental conservation and celebrate nature’s beauty. Scheduled for November 10 at Merlin Greens, near IIM Joka, Kolkata, the contest invites photographers and nature enthusiasts to capture the flora and fauna in the lush setting of Ibiza the Fern Resort & Spa and Aquaville.

At a formal function today, Mr. Sushil Mohta, Chairman, Merlin  Group announced the second edition of Merlin Green frames 2024 in presence of  Mr. Milan Mandal, Former Divisional Forest Officer, South 24 Parganas & Presently Joint Director, JICA, Forest Department , Govt of West Bengal ,  Mrs. Subha Das Mollick,  noted film director and professor ;Mr. Sayan Choudhury, Founder of the Indian Photographic Academy. Mr. Sandipan Mukherjee , renowned  photographer and author of , two critically acclaimed books “On Broken Trails “ and “Gangasagar  was also present at the launch. He  will  be the mentor and  judge of  the contest.

This initiative, launched in 2023, encourages environmental awareness and fosters a deep connection with nature through the art of photography. Merlin Group’s Chairman, Mr. Sushil Mohta, expressed hope that this contest will inspire participants to appreciate and protect our environment. “As the area around Ibiza and Aquaville transforms into a natural habitat for local and migratory birds, we hope to nurture a sense of responsibility towards these ecosystems,” he said.

“In the present scenario, we are experiencing fast burnout through workplace stress. Virtual solace and binge-eating have become commonplace, yet living amid nature and appreciating it is crucial for healthy living,” stated Mr. Sushil Mohta, Chairman, Merlin Group.

“Sustainability and coexistence with nature have always been our focus. Earlier, we implemented waste management and bird habitat workshops as part of our CSR. Nature photography takes this further, helping people experience the world in its purest form. This initiative can become a lasting awareness campaign, urging society toward harmonious coexistence.” He highlighted Merlin Greens as an ideal setting, rich in diverse plant life, lakes, and attracting both local and migratory birds”, added Mr. Mohta.
