Medicall Exhibition 2025 Inaugurated in Kolkata by Mr Malay Pit, President of Santiniketan Medical college

The much-awaited Medicall Exhibition 2025, India’s premier healthcare and hospital needs exhibition, was inaugurated today at Biswa Bangla Mela Prangan, Kolkata. The three-day event, running from February 15 to 17, has attracted leading national and international healthcare institutions, showcasing cutting-edge medical innovations.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Dr. Malay Pit, President of Santiniketan Medical College & Hospital and Tripura Santiniketan Medical College. In his speech, Dr. Pit commended the state government’s efforts in improving healthcare infrastructure, particularly in rural areas. “The government’s initiatives in modernizing healthcare services are commendable. The transformation of rural hospitals is unprecedented and marks a significant step forward,” he said.
Dr. Pit also lauded the state’s pro-industry policies, emphasizing the need for private investment in healthcare. “*The government is fostering an industry-friendly environment, actively engaging with business leaders to attract investment. Sustainable healthcare growth requires robust industrial participation, and these initiatives are a step in the right direction,” he added.
Technology in Healthcare A key highlight of his speech was the emphasis on technology-driven healthcare solutions. He pointed out global advancements, such as AI-operated hospital, and urged India to embrace similar innovations. “*Through telemedicine, tele-pathology, tele-radiology, tele-ICU, and artificial intelligence, we can revolutionize healthcare accessibility,”* he stated. Dr. Pit also referenced a groundbreaking robotic telesurgery performed in Hyderabad earlier this year. The procedure, conducted across 286 kilometers using the SSI Mantra surgical robotic system, marked a significant milestone in India’s medical technology sector. Inspired by such advancements, he announced plans to introduce a postgraduate-equivalent course in Bolpur, offering a unique 10-month practical training program supplemented by two months of theoretical learning. Major Exhibits and Industry Participation The Medicall Exhibition 2025 features over 250 exhibitors presenting innovations in AI-based diagnostics, robotic surgery, telemedicine, and genetic research. Leading healthcare companies and startups are showcasing their latest developments, attracting significant interest from investors and medical professionals. Speaking at the event, Sanjay Mukherjee, MD of SI Surgical, highlighted the exhibition’s impact on investment opportunities. “This platform will open new avenues for healthcare advancements, encouraging Indian and international investors to explore strategic collaborations,” he said. Taher Sheikh, Joint Secretary of the All Bengal Private Nursing Home and Hospital Owners Association, emphasized the large-scale participation from the healthcare community. “More than 2,500 private hospitals and nursing homes, along with numerous doctors from across the country, are attending this year’s event,” he confirmed.
