SBPL : You’re never too old for cricket!

Local cricketers showcase their skills in SBPL

The  fifth edition of SBPL (Swapnar Bagan Premier League) was held on 23rd January 2021. This one day cricket tournament was held  at Sapnar Bagan Sporting Club. Each player participating in the SBPL 80-40 tournament was over 40 years of age and under 60 years of age. The main attraction of this tournament were these players who proved  that age is just a number!

Six teams participated in this Premier League made in IBPL style. In which “Sand Super Kings” and “Torsaye-Barsha” played in the finals. In this Premier League, Ajay Singh of “Sand Super Kings” won the trophy of “Man of the Match” and Arjun Jaiswal of “Torsaye Barsha” won the trophy of “Man of the Tournament”.

The  chief guests  present during the prize distribution ceremony  were former Indian player  Karsan Ghavri , Former Ranji Trophy player and Cricket Association of Bengal administrator Sambaran Banerjee, West Bengal Consumers Affairs minister Sadhan Pandey. along with Krishna Sengupta, president of Sapnar Bagan Sporting Club, Co-ordinators  Sunanda Guha , Shanti Ranjan Kundu and Anindo Sengupta secretary of the club.

The organisers said SBPL is one of the premier cricketing events in the area  which supports local talent and contributes to the building the reputation of the club. They are confident of bringing some amazing cricket talents to the spectators through this tournament.
