Leander Paes feels self-belief, mental health, and hard work guarantee a successful career

Legendary tennis player Leander Paes discussed the importance of starting conversations about mental health and positive mental healthcare practices during a talk show held during East Bengal Club Sport’s Day event.
Paes said he was blessed to have parents, who themselves are athletes. “My father (Vece Paes) is a doctor and an athlete, this combination is luck. He educated me on how to enhance body naturally. My athleticism, mental training has come from home. We talk about sport at the dining table at home. I had champion parents, they taught me how to handle pressure and how to get form back,” he said.
Leander Paes over the span of his long sporting career has won eight doubles and six mixed doubles Grand Slam titles. Leander Paes is also the only Indian to have competed in six consecutive Olympic Games. Leander Paes embody”s mental strength, unrelenting hunger for success, determination, unwavering focus, discipline and hard work,
Talking about the present scenario of tennis in India he said, “I feel that in the last couple of years, tennis in India has improved a lot in the number of professional players playing the game.”
