Launch of ‘ School Futsal Development League’ in Bengal

Mr Javier Lozano, President of the LNFS (Spanish Futsal League), is overjoyed to announce that “ Proindia School Futsal Development League, in conjunction with the LNFS, is an initiative spearheaded by Aparup Chakraborty, the ‘Futsal Man’ and ‘our sole representative in India.’
He adds, “introducing AIFF Blue Cubs in the FUTSAL format and engaging over 100+ government schools to create a Football ecosystem for over 1,00,000+ children without charging any fees is very impressive.” Aparup Chakraborty, AIFF Match Commissioner, IFA Futsal Committee member, and the League Founder, has been a pioneer in Bengal grassroots and Futsal since 2014.
According to him, “we are just trying to take AIFF Blue Cubs to remote areas for absolutely free so that we can get maximum participation and involvement from kids aged 8 to 12. It’s incredible that this is an IFA-approved event, which means that talented children will have a structured pathway following this league. Special thanks to Slum Soccer and the Jhelum Foundation for their support of this Futsal project.”
Joshuah Vaz, the present Coach of the Indian National Futsal Team (both Men and Women) has joined Aparup Futsal School as the Technical Consultant. “despite few obstacles, Aparup had been working hard to promote Futsal selflessly. AIFF Blue Cubs will get a new identity through futsal in districts. I know he will face many difficulties regarding infrastructure where he won’t be able to rigidly follow FIFA Futsal Laws of the Game but involvement of so many kids will do wonders to grassroots football.”
This program is divided into two phases:
# Round 1: AIFF Blue Cubs (Futsal format) 1. Intra-School Competition: Introduce AIFF Blue Cubs in Futsal format, with intra-section and intra-class league matches as per specification by AIFF. 2. Knockout Stages: Progress to knockout stages, fostering a competitive environment in the Inter-School phase. 3. Scouting and Evaluation: Utilize both physical scouts and Football Analytics to evaluate player performance and potential.
# Round 2: Elite Team Selection and Development through Aparup LNFS Futsal School 1. Selecting the Best: Choose the top 25 kids from each school from Round 1 to form an elite U13 teams & School Teams.
For U13 & U15: Aparup Futsal School will invite IKF ( Indian Scouting platform) to scout various U13 & U15 clubs participating in the AIFF & STATE Youth Leagues and elevate them to main stream football. They’ve already partnered with premier division clubs like Bhawanipore FC , Ileague and AIFF Futsal champions Minerva Academy.
Mr. Subrata Dutta, IFA Chairman said, ” Aparup’s efforts are original and outstanding. I am glad to be a part of this initiative. We will send scouts to some of the matches. ” Mr. Srinjoy Bose, Former General Secretary of Mohun Bagan said, ” We wish Aparup and his crew continued success in their efforts to promote Futsal and develop future talent. This effort has the potential to have a significant impact on the Indian grassroots.” Mr. Chandan Roy Chowdhury, President, Bengal Olympic Association said, “I’ve known Aparup for over a decade. He is a faithful Futsal soldier. Hopefully, Futsal will be added as an Olympic discipline, and we’ll need individuals like him to handle the show. ” Mr. Chandi Charan Samanta, Head of Coordinator in Midnapore District said,” We organized a ‘Train the Trainers’ program for 50 PE teachers, who are now well-equipped to teach the essentials to children during and after school. We hope to bring in 100 AIFF Blue Cubs, as our commander Aparup envisions.”
