Lakkhichhara Return With Their New Album After A Decade

Lakkhichhara, one of Kolkata’s most iconic Bengali bands, today, released their much-awaited sixth studio album, titled Ek Doshok Por. The album was launched today at Chapter 2 by ace musician Debojyoti Mishra and singer, Rupankar Bagchi in the presence of the band members Rajiv Mitra (Vocals), Gaurab Chatterjee aka Gaboo (Drums/Vocals), Debaditya Chaudhury (Keyboards), Sanket Bhattacharya popularly known as Panku (Bass), Bodhisattwa Ghosh (Guitars/Vocals), John Paul (Guitars/Vocals) & Anirban Bob Mazumder (Lyrics) and a host of musical stalwarts from the industry.
Lakkhichhara is ready to captivate audiences once again with their latest creation, ‘Ek Doshok Por’. This highly anticipated album that features four songs, Ghete Jachchhe Shob, Ekhane Bigyapon Mariben Na, Padabi & Upohaar promises to showcase the band’s brand of music which has evolved over the years. Fans can expect this exceptional collection of songs to encapsulate the essence of Lakkhichhara’s signature soundscape. A music video of the song Ghete Jachchhhe Shob was also launched for the occasion.
“With Digital era coming in, the concept pf music albums have almost become obsolete and Singles with a music video is what the audiences prefer. We also followed the trend. But at the same time, there are music aficionados as well as our die hard fans who craved for and requested us for a long time to come up with an album once again. Ek Doshok Por is our gift to our fans and people who enjoy rock music in particular. Well, it took us 10 years to come up with a full-fledged album, but we can assure you that the wait is worth it. Formed in 1999, Lakkhichhara initially made their mark by performing at college fests, hotels, and pubs. In 2001, the band recorded their debut album, which featured major hits like “Care Korina” and “Shudhu Chai Tomay” that garnered significant airplay on radio channels in Kolkata.
In 2003, Lakkhichhara recorded their second studio album, ‘Jibon Chaichhe Aro Besi,’ further solidifying their musical prowess. In 2005, they released their breakthrough album, ‘Eka,’ which achieved immense success. With their rich history and undeniable talent, Lakkhichhara, over the years has emerged as one of Kolkata’s most sought-after Bengali bands. The band members have also appeared as judges on popular television shows like Hau Mau Khau on Zee Bangla, Band-E-Mataram (I & II), and “Rock Idols,” in addition to headlining numerous college fests those ran in packed houses.
It will not be an exaggeration to say that Lakkhichhara’s ‘Ek Doshok Por’ is a celebration of their journey, resilience, and dedication to their craft.
