‘Kulpi’ : Romantic Comedy which spreads the message of true affection and humanity.
‘Kulpi’, the first movie from the stable of BD Productions starring Paayel Sarkar along with debutante Protyay Ghosh and directed by Barshali Chatterjee was premiered at Inox- South City amidst much fanfare. The entire cast and crew members including the lead pair along with Rajatava Dutta & Biswanath Basu were present at the star studded premiere.
The movie narrates the story of Kuldip Roy Chowdhury, nicknamed as ‘Kulpi’ owing to his small height. While depicting the struggles of Kulpi, gradually the film highlights a beautiful father – son bond with Rajatava Dutta portraying the role of Kulpi’s father, Kalipdada. Kankona, portrayed by Paayel Sarkar, is Kulpi’s dream girl. The antagonist, Hilton Braganza, played by Biswanath Basu who attempts to subjugate Kulpi and force him into an established order of existence deemed fit for ‘Dwarfs’. Kulpi’s journey to win over these impediments forms the crux of the story.

‘Kulpi’ is produced by Bidyut Das of BD Film Productions. The cinematographers of the movie are Ratnajit Roy, Vicky & Anuj while Prabir Giri is the Editor. Barshali Chatterjee herself has penned the story and script of ‘Kulpi’. Kulpi’s music has been composed by Kumar Sanu, Shree Pritam, Barsha Sengupta, Shovon Ganguly and Debojyoti Mishra.
