According to a PAN India Real Estate Advisory Firm, CIRIL which has released its Half Yearly 2022 Commercial Real Estate Market report covering 20 cities across India, Over 80% of the transaction volume in Kolkata’s Industrial and warehousing market has been in the NH6 submarket across locations such as Amta,Bagnan and Panchla followed by NH2 submarket.Robust enquiry has been witnessed by occupiers from E-Commerce, Retail,B2B, Automobilea nd Logistics.
CIRIL stated that retail leasing in Kolkata market continued to witness a positive growth in H1 2022 with leasing of around 0.3 million sft of space. Garment anchors, Electronic formats, Fitness Centres, F&B, Super & Hyper market formats have been on the top list in terms of absorbing spaces.
According to CIRIL, commercial real estate market of Kolkata witnessed a revival of demand with absorption of around 0.5 mnsft in H1 2022. Flexible office spaces and coworking spaces saw most demand in H1 2022 with a share of 25% of total space absorption. IT-BPM sector contributed 15% of leasing followed by Engg& Manufacturing sector. Salt Lake Sector V and Rajarhat remained primary conduits of market activity accounting for around 55% and 35% of half yearly leasing volumes respectively.
