Jump-N-Joey and The Oral School for Deaf Children Celebrate Independence Day with Joyful Togetherness

We celebrated Independence Day four days early at Jump-N-Joey this year, and it was a celebration with a cause. We opened our doors to  The Oral School for Deaf Children, and 43 of them, accompanied by 10 teachers, had an absolute blast – exploring the vibrant, safe and welcoming play arena at Jump-N-Joey, turning the space into a haven of laughter and togetherness.

Founded in 1964, and located at 4-B, Short Street, Kolkata,  The Oral School for Deaf Children has spent over six decades championing inclusive education and creating opportunities for children with hearing impairments. Most of the 50 children come from poor socioeconomic backgrounds and the majority are funded. A dedicated band of teachers impart education through  speech-based learning, creative arts and deep community engagement. The school continues to empower its students to lead confident, expressive lives and is proud of what so many have done and achieved in their lives after leaving school.

Bar hearing, there is nothing that a child with a hearing impairment cannot do and their enthusiasm to try everything had to be seen to be believed. From trampoline jumps to thrilling attractions like Crazy Jump and Spider Tower, the kids soaked it all in and just could not get enough. Trained Play Experts were on hand to ensure the children felt safe, and free to explore.

A sumptuous meal courtesy Jump N Joey happily replenished the appetites that the children had worked up with their excursions on the Trampoline and all in all it was a day to remember for all.

Co-founders of Jump-N-Joey, Aditya Gupta & Seema Gupta, shared,“At Jump N Joey, we believe play is for everyone. It was a true joy to host the students and teachers from The Oral School for Deaf Children this Independence Day. Seeing the children explore, laugh and enjoy themselves reminded us why inclusive spaces matter. We’re honoured to have been part of their celebration.”

Director – Promotions, IRC Group, Cyrus Madan, shared,
“For me this was something truly personal. I have been associated with the Oral School For Deaf Children since the 1970s.  Aditya and Seema’s incredible gesture in inviting the children to come to Jump N Joey has made their Independence Day Celebration into something they will never forget.  Watching the children enjoy the space so freely and with joyful abandon was incredibly moving and we at IRC will ensure that experiences like these will always be a part of our mission statement. We are proud that Jump N Joey could be a part of their Independence Day memories.”

This special celebration was a beautiful tribute to the values of equality, joy and hope, leaving everyone with full hearts and bright smiles.
