The International Sports Film Festival of India has returned to Kolkata for its fourth edition. ISFFI 2026 stands as India’s sole dedicated international sports film festival. The opening ceremony was held at Nandan III, featuring cricketer and coach Sambaran Banerjee, Hon MMIC Sri. Debasish Kumar, and Alexander Thomas, Vice President of the Daman & Diu Olympic Association, as the chief guests. This year, the festival will showcase 36 films from 16 countries, including Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Iran, Mexico, the Netherlands, the UK, the USA, and India, over the course of the five-day annual event.
Among the films to be screened at ISFFI 2026 from February 4 to February 8 are Mira Nair’s Queen of Katwe, Reema Kagti’s Gold, Ira Deokule’s Athletes Are Mad, Seyyed Abbas Hosseini’s Chekhov’s Gun, Adam Lapallo’s Untouchable, Rosaura Aranda’s Until Death, Dmitry Vingursky’s Believe in a Dream, and Arnab Riingo Banerjee’s Messi. Passes for individual screenings, as well as season passes that allow viewers to attend screenings of their choice on all days, will be available outside Nandan III starting at 11.30am on Wednesday. The passes are complimentary and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
The International Sports Film Festival of India honors the dynamic intersection of sports, cinema, and the human spirit, featuring screenings, interactions, awards, and discussions with filmmakers, athletes, and cultural figures from both India and abroad. ISFFI 2026 will culminate with a talk show and an awards ceremony on February 8.
