ISFFA ends on a high note

Increasing accessibility and affordability of new media has escalated the production of short films and documentaries. Filmmakers from around the globe are using the medium as an effective tool to express, experiment and learn.

Considered as one of the most honest forms of film making, short films act as a powerful medium to tell a story that leaves an impact. Short films are used to raise questions and consider ideals on social issues and may come across as minor in terms of scale, but are enormous on ideas.

 Movie buffs in the city had a reason to rejoice. It was amazing to see the enthusiasm and anticipation of ardent cinephiles, which filled the air during the Indian International Short Film Festival Awards held in the city. More than 150 films including films from abroad was screened with the participation of filmmakers, artists and  film experts from the film industry.
“Indian International Short Film Festival Awards is an amalgamation of unleash cinematic creativity & madness of cine-goers of world. The festival objective is to create short films culture, promotion of upcoming filmmakers.” said Saikat Das of ISFFA.
Suman Nayak of ISFFA added, “ISFFA offer a fantastic opportunity for undiscovered filmmakers to showcase their achievements.”
One of the Filmmakers present during the occasion said “: With the appetite for consumption increasing and attention span changing, audiences are becoming more receptive to the micro-content of short films. “
Another filmmaker added,”Short films have recorded a boom during the Covid-19 pandemic, and afterwards. With limited resources, the filmmakers have been coming up with short films which revolve around social issues. “
ISFFA definitely provided celluloid comfort to the pandemic-fatigued cinema lovers of the state!
