Important meeting at the Academy of Fine Arts organized by the Bengal Minority Forum

On the occasion of International Minority Rights Day, the Bengal Minority Forum organized an important discussion on Thursday at Kolkata’s Academy of Fine Arts. The program opened with the recitation of the Qur’an by Gari Jabed Ali. The meeting featured several significant speeches on minority rights, human rights, social justice, and communal harmony. Distinguished guests from various sectors of society, human rights activists, intellectuals, and the organization’s president, secretary and other office-bearers attended.
Siamat Ali, general secretary of the Bengal Minority Forum, said, “Protecting the constitutional rights of minority communities faces serious challenges today. In particular, the seizure, misuse and mismanagement of waqf properties are harming the minorities’ educational, religious and welfare institutions. Immediate, strict and transparent government action on this issue is essential.” He added that if the government is willing to resolve the OBC-related problems, it can do so quickly.
