Recently, the Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata (I-NK), celebrated its 12th foundation day.
The event was celebrated in the august presence ofPramod Agarwal IAS. Chairman, Coal India Limited who graced the program as the Chief Guest. He congratulated Team I-NK for revolutionizing neurological care in Eastern India. He also inaugurated the medical equipment that were procured by generous donation by Coal India Limited. Swami Atmapriyananda Maharaj Pro-Chancellor of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda University,belur blessed the occasion as Guest of Honor. He was happy to see the growth of the institute over years. He delivered a wonderful speech that motivated and inspired one and all.
Prof (Dr.) R P Sengupta. founding Chairman & Managing Director I-NK. , recalled how few years back he was distressed to see the lack of treatment facilities or neurological patients in his motherland, Kolkata and in the neighborhood areas. The thought inspired him and his friends to fulfill his dream of establishing a unique neurological facility’ for the people of Kolkata. The not for profit-institution is now, leading provider of neurosciences service, education and research at par with premiere institutions of the world.
Dr. Arjune Sen of Oxford University shared how the institute has made its mark in the field of research and patient care. He also mentioned about the plan of collaborative research between I-NK and Oxford university .
Dr. Hrishikesh Kumar, Vice chairman of the institute and Head of Neurology shared about the exemplary work of staff and doctors of I-NK during the pandemic. He also mentioned about the future vision and plan of expansion of the institute.
Dr. A R Sonthalia Member of board of director of the institute applauded the remarkable resilience.of team I-NK and assured all the support of board to the front-line workers of the institute. CEO of the institute,Dr. Avik Roy Choudhury gave vote of thanks and he mentioned about the contribution of donors and well-wishers. The ceremony was marked by short cultural presentation by the staff of I-NK.
