Hindustan Club Celebrates Holi with ‘Rang De Rio’ and Hasya Kavi Sammelan

In a vibrant confluence of global festivity and Indian literary tradition, Hindustan Club Ltd hosted an immersive Holi celebration titled ‘Rang De Rio’, drawing more than 600 members for a day marked by colour, culture and community bonding. Breaking away from conventional festivities, the Brazilian-themed Holi carnival transformed the Club premises into a riot of colours inspired by Rio’s iconic carnival spirit. Rain dance arenas, foam pools, water slides, floral décor and jumbo bouncy attractions for children created a lively, family-friendly atmosphere. Interactive games such as Thandai Pong, Zig-Zag challenges, Jenga and Balloon Blast kept members actively engaged, while specially curated festive cuisine added to the celebratory spirit. DJ further elevated the energy, turning the venue into a pulsating dance floor and ensuring enthusiastic participation across age groups.
Mr Sanjay Goenka, President of Hindustan Club, said, “With Rang De Rio, we sought to reimagine Holi by blending its vibrant spirit with the rhythm and energy of Brazilian celebrations. Our aim was to create a unique, immersive experience for members—bringing together colour, joy and community in a truly memorable way.” Swati Bihani, Honorary Joint Secretary, underscored the scale of the event. “We witnessed participation from more than 600 members enjoying a wide range of attractions—from games like Jenga to rain dance, foam pool and dedicated pools for children. There was truly something for everyone. It turned out to be an amazing celebration for the entire Hindustan Club family,” she said.
The evening progressed into a grand Hasya Kavi Sammelan featuring noted poets including Sunil Jogi, Shambu Shikhar and Bhuban Mohini, who enthralled audiences with satire, wit and evocative storytelling. Mr Kamal Ghelani, Honorary Secretary, stated that the dual-format celebration reflected the Club’s commitment to diverse cultural programming that strengthens community bonds while keeping traditions alive in contemporary formats.
