HDFC Bank’s Parivartan Launches Skill Training Centre In Kolkata To Empower Marginalised Youth

HDFC Bank’s CSR brand, Parivartan, in collaboration with Orion Educational Society, launched a Skill Training Centre at Smart Connect, New Town, Kolkata. This initiative, part of the Financial Inclusion & Livelihood Enhancement (FILE) program, aims to provide vocational training for better livelihoods.

The initiative addresses unemployment and economic disparities faced by economically weaker and marginalised communities. It aims to equip individuals with employable skills and create employment opportunities. The initiative targets training 500 individuals in employable skills, in sectors like telecom and healthcare, between July 2023 to May 2024. The training curriculum is carefully crafted to meet industry requirements, enhancing the trainees’ employability prospects.

Ms. Nusrat Pathan, Head of CSR at HDFC Bank, said, “The Skill Training Centre at Smart Connect represents our commitment to nurturing talent and creating opportunities for marginalised youth. Through vocational training, we aim to bridge industry skill gaps and promote economic empowerment.”

Periodic assessments are conducted to evaluate the progress and proficiency of the trainees in their respective skill sets. Successful completion of the training program will lead to the award of certifications that are recognised by employers, validating the trainees’ qualifications. The initiative collaborates closely with relevant industries and employers to create suitable job opportunities for the trained individuals.
