Govt taking measures to help MSMEs increase exports

MSME-Development & Facilitation Office, Kolkata under Ministry of MSME, Govt. of India organized one-day National Seminar / Workshop on Export Promotion & Business Opportunities for MSMEs Kolkata today at Indian Museum. The National Level Seminar aims to install a new level of enthusiasm amongst the participants with a definite capacity building approach. The market is getting bigger and bigger day by day with the advancement of digital technologies and also export opportunities. Indian entrepreneurs are advancing like never before. New ideas are cropping up. New support systems are being built to facilitate entrepreneurship. This Seminar aims to sensitize the entrepreneurs about the present and future potential of export promotion and growing the business and reaching to the world with exploring our potentialities.

The National Seminar on Export Promotion & Business Opportunities for MSMEs was inaugurated by: Shri. D. MitraIEDS, Joint Director & HoO, MSME-DFO, KolkataDr. V. SivakkumarDirector, Khadi & Village Industries Commission (KVIC), M/o MSME, GoI, KolkataMs. Debdatta NandwaniRegional Head, Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIEO), Eastern Region, Kolkata and Shri. Partha ChowdhuryJoint Director, Directorate of MSME, Govt. of WB, Kolkata.

On this occasion, Sri. D MitraIEDS, Joint Director & HoO, MSME-DFO, Kolkata expressed his satisfaction for organizing this event for exclusive benefits of MSMEs for the State of West Bengal. He also informed that around 200 MSMEs participated in the Seminar. Sharing his views, he said, “Government of India has taken several measures to enhance the exports by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Ministry of MSME has established various Export Facilitation Centers (EFCs) across the country with an aim to provide requisite mentoring and handholding support to MSMEs in exporting their products and services and various Enterprise Development Centers (EDCs) have been setup with the aim to build a network of entrepreneurial leaders by providing professional mentoring and handholding support services to MSMEs. Ministry is also implementing International Cooperation Scheme for enhancing the marketability of products and services in the MSME sector by facilitating visit and participation of MSMEs in international exhibitions, trade fairs, buyer-seller meet etc. abroad and also holding International conferences, seminars and workshops in India, for technology infusion, exploring business opportunities, joint ventures etc.”

Various topics were elaborately discussed during this event with reference to Introduction to Export Marketing – Identification of Export Products & Export Buyers, Export Overview & Incentive Schemes under EXIM Policy, Role of ITPO for Export Promotion of MSMEs, GAP in Financial Skill for MSMEs, Logistics for Business Development of MSMEs, Aspects of TReDS for MSMEs, Aspects of Export Finance for MSMEs, Pollution Control Compliances for various Engineering Activities of MSMEs, Aspects of Digital Marketing for MSME, GeM for MSMEs, Credit Support/ Angel Funding/ Venture Capital for MSMEs, Presentation on Schemes & Policies of M/o MSME, Govt. of India etc.

Ministry of MSME is emphasising the present MSMEs to be familiar with Digital Marketing, Procurement from Govt. e-Market Place (GeM), to adapt Public Procurement Policy and to enhance Export promotion etc. There were three Plenary Sessions of various topics and activities of the Ministry for the development of Micro, Small & Medium enterprises. A special camp for Udyam Registration and ZED Registration also assisted the enterprises.
