A storm of resistance arose at the Gopal Mukherjee memorial meeting of the Open Air Organization May ji bhar jia, may man se moru, lout kar ayunga, kuch se q durun? Tu dabe pao, chori- chhipe se na aa, front war kar fir mujhe ajma. Maut se bekhbar, zindegi ka safar, sham har surmoyi raat banshi ka swara. Baat aysi nahi ki koi gham hi nehi, dard apne paraye kuch kam bhi nehi,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the late poet, essayist, Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s poetry is still a reminder of inspiration to the people of the country. He passed away on 16 August 2018 at the age of 93. August 16, 2024 is his sixth death anniversary. Another personality namely Bharat Keshari and the protector of Bengal, Shyama Prasad Mukhopadhyay, are two images on one side of the stage.
On the other hand, Gopal Mukhopadhyay’s image. Behind the stage is a portrait of Gopal Mukherjee written there in memory of Gopal Mukherjee. State opposition leader Subvendu Adhikari, Khola Hawa organization president Dr Swapan Dasgupta, former governor and eminent writer Tathagata Roy and Swami Pradiptananda Maharaj were present on the stage paying homage to these three ideal heroes. Dr Biswajit Das, the leading youth worker of the organization, welcomed the present personalities with garlands. On Friday evening at the ICCR stage in Central Kolkata, the organization of intellectuals and artists of Bengal organized a solemn discussion meeting in memory of the son of the soil Gopal Mukherjee.
On August 16, 1946, about 10 thousand people of the Hindu Bengali community of Kolkata lost their lives in a planned attack by the fundamentalist minority community. . Saravardi Hossain, the ruler of Bengal at that time, condoned the crime like a silent spectator. August 16, 1946 has been marked as a tainted chapter in the history of human civilization. On that day, Gopal Mukherjee stood with a few companions to prevent the killing of Hindus. Who was known as Gopal Pantha. His business was a chicken shop. The shop used to be decorated by the goddess of power, Maa Kali herself. Gopal Mukherjee’s resistance combined with strength and devotion saved the lives of many Hindus that day. The Jehadi Muslim fanatics were forced to retreat that day in the face of Gopal Mukherjee’s resistance. The rulers of independent India erased that history from the pages of history by removing the dust of communal unity. But the truth cannot be suppressed for long. Hindu Bengalis are waking up today.
In this context, it remains a moral responsibility of the intellectuals to straighten the spine of Bengal. Wise, eloquent former journalist and former Rajya Sabha member Dr Swapan Dasgupta formed Khola Hawa , an intellectual organization; organized a discussion meeting in memory of Gopal Mukherjee. The aim is to convey the bravery of Gopal Mukherjee, the bearer of traditional Hindu heritage of the state to the new generation. Senior personality Tathagata Roy delivered the inaugural address. He explains the existential crisis of the Hindu Bengali in his artful speech weaving craft in his natural posture. He called for a united resolve to stand against radical Islamic aggression. The next speaker was Swami Pradiptananda Maharaj. Who is popularly known as Karthik Maharaj. He referred to sages Aurobindo and Vivekananda and said that humane behavior is the religion of man, but there is a need to exercise muscle power against injustice. He says that we water Krishna with Karuna juice by swinging him in Jhulan yatra and with the color of peach. Let’s not forget Krishna’s heroism. Since childhood, he has killed enemies in defense of society. In the Gita, we see that Arjuna refuses to share in the sin of taking up arms against his relatives, then it is Krishna who convinces him that taking up arms against injustice and shedding blood is the right religion. Bangasantan Gopal Mukherjee understood that with his heart. So he took shelter of Bahubal and stood against the intolerants of paradharma and forced them to flee.
The packed audience was eagerly waiting to hear the speech of opposition leader Ladaku Subhendu Adhikari. Already paying tribute to Gopal Mukherjee’s bravery, Karthik Maharaj praised opposition leader Subvendu Adhikari’s fighting role. The audience supported that statement with huge applause. Standing on the stage, Shuvendu Adhikari said in a firm voice, “The coming years are our mortal struggle.” Only if this fight is won, the existence of Hindu Bengalis will survive. We will reverently remember Gopal Mukherjee to gain the strength of that struggle and highlight the relevance of the defender of traditional Hinduism to today’s generation. Gita and Tulsi tree should be delivered from house to house. Shuvendu Adhikari said amidst a wide applause, Mamata Banerjee has brought the Hindu Bengalis to one end of the abyss through corruption and minority appeasement.
