5th Hottomela International Film Festival ends leaving cinema enthusiasts with memories galore!
5th Hottomela International Film Festival was held on 23rd & 24th December 2023 at Mohit Moitra Mancha, Kolkata . This Year’s Festival was dedicated to Iconic Legendary Filmmaker Shri Bimal Roy .
The festival showcased different kinds of films such as Short Film , Documentary Film , Animated Film , Music Video , Travel Film , Poetry Film , Experimental Film within 30 Minutes. Films were selected from over 20 countries such as Germany , United States , Romania , Portugal , Austria , Italy , Finland , United Arab Emirates , United Kingdom , Russian Federation , France , Netherlands , Bulgaria , Albania , Denmark , Colombia , South Africa , Ireland & Bangladesh .
Festival Director Cum Organizer Kaushik Roy Pau said “We intend to make the film festival bigger every year and bring in more films. We are happy to see the overwhelming response of the people in the city for the first and only film fest of this kind here.Eminent Instrumental Musician-Foley Sound Artist-Craftsman-Writer Shri Abhijit Banerjee , Eminent Actress From Golden Era Smt. Romi Choudhury & Film Researcher-Screenwriter Prof. Sumanto Bandyopadhyay were present as Chief Guests . Abhijit Ganguly of UP WORDS said ,”The festival was successful to attract the young generation to the ‘magic of cinema’.Not just regional cinema, national and international movies also kept people glued to the film fest held this year.”
Kaushik Roy Pau’s Full Comedy Film , ” VIR VRANTI ( CONFUSING CROWD ) ” was specially screened and different kinds of Bangla Folk Music Was Presented by ‘DOTARA BAJAI’ Folk Group . Special Guests were Film Journalist Shri. Gopal Das & Talented Music Composer Megh Banerjee whose New Music Video ‘ FRUSTRATION ER GAAN ‘ was premiered there . Also Eminent Actress Debleena Dutt & Actor Shoumo Banerjee were present . Organizing Co-Operator Soumendu Das , Event Management by ‘ Viera Production ‘ , Photography Partner Tanvir Mondal . At the end of the Event , Awards were distributed to the Participants from different places .
