A press conference on E20 ethanol-blended petrol was held today at the Press Club, Kolkata, to address widespread misinformation surrounding the use of ethanol-blended fuel and its impact on vehicle performance and engine health.
The media interaction featured Shri Samir Rohatgi, General Manager – Customer Service (Eastern Region), Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, Shri Kushal Bajoria, Secretary, Indian Oil Dealers’ Forum, West Bengal, and Shri Dilip Loyalka, renowned Chartered Accountant and entrepreneur. The speakers highlighted the benefits of E20 fuel, clarified common misconceptions, and emphasized its role in promoting cleaner mobility and reducing India’s dependence on imported fossil fuels.
During the session, Shri Samir Rohatgi explained that E20 fuel is compatible with vehicles specifically designed or certified for its use and urged consumers to follow manufacturer guidelines. Shri Kushal Bajoria discussed the availability and distribution of E20 fuel across the region while reassuring consumers about its quality and safety standards. Shri Dilip Loyalka stressed the importance of public awareness and accurate information in supporting the country’s transition toward sustainable energy solutions.
The press conference was formally introduced by Ms. Jane Namchu, Director General, Press Information Bureau (PIB), Kolkata, who welcomed the speakers and facilitated the interaction with members of the media.
