Embracing the Next Generation of Internal Auditing

The internal audit profession is undergoing a sea change.Similar to finance and accounting, internal audit has evolved over the years, expanding beyond financial assurance to take on a more advisory role, providing insights into everything from cybersecurity to regulatory compliance and human resources. The accounting profession is driven by many of the same forces—technology, risk, and rising stakeholder expectations.

IIA India – Calcutta Chapter hosted its flagship program Joint Audit Conclave 2022 after a gap of
two years due to pandemic disaster. The theme of this year’s conference is “Future of Profession:
Adapt| Transform| Innovate”.

Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar , Honourable Governor of West Bengal was the chief guest and inaugurated the conclave.The event was graced by dignitaries and members from the three premier institutes of
India: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India,The Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of India,The Institute of Company Secretaries of India and The Institute of Internal Auditors, Bangladesh. Senior professionals from corporate and consulting  deliberated upon interesting contemporary topics during the day long conference.

 

The Institute of Internal Auditors is the internal audit profession’s global voice, recognized authority, acknowledged leader, chief advocate, and principal educator. Established in 1941, The IIA today serves more than 2,00,000 members from more than 190 countries and territories. The association’s global headquarters is in Lake Mary, Florida, USA. IIA members across the globe work in the areas of internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, and security.
The CIA (Certified Internal Auditor) is the flagship certification course offered by the IIA, followed by
other widely recognized and niche courses like CRMA, QIAL, CPEA and CPSA.
The IIAIndia is a non-profit professional organization dedicated to the advancement and
development of the internal auditing profession in India. Presently IIA India has six chapters located
in Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Mumbai.
The IIA India – Calcutta chapter was established in 1974. Having more than 400 professionals as members, the Chapter is vibrant and acclaimed for regularly holding seminars, audit conclaves, round tables, networking events and training programs attended by champions of the industry, senior members of the profession and representatives from various Chambers of Commerce. Guwahati, Bhubaneswar and Jamshedpur Audit Clubs are located within the domain of Calcutta Chapter.
